To simplify I work with people who are in one place (pain), and want to be in a new place (out of pain).
We can easily compare this journey to flying a plane to a new destination.
No plane journey is straight forward for a pilot; he or she takes into account all the variables which affect the planes course including wind speed, direction, weather conditions, temperature and the weight of the plane.
They constantly check-in with the instrument gauges and may make adjustments which keep the plane on the course that they need to be on.
This metaphor is relevant to being on a journey of pain recovery.
First you decide and commit to the journey and whilst on that journey, you may very well need to check in and make any changes that are going to promote your recovery.
Be a pilot with your health and don’t be disheartened if you have to make some adjustments along the way.
